love painting

OK so what is an ex analyst doing painting? I hear that often, but I'm happy & living the American dream as a business owner. I love making things look nice. I have gone further & now add refurbishing & rebuilding. No not entire homes, but if you have areas that have rotted due to moisture problems or that have become a termite delicacy I can repair/replace the areas. Then seal with a lot of caulking & top quality paint. I'm now in the southern California area. At present in Naples, CA on an interior. Last year did their exterior. What? Yes, those of us painters who are licensed & have been in the business for years do get call backs. Yes, we do give returning customers extra specials. First time customer, get lots of TLC too. I do work hard- so you don't have too. I promise I do give it my all. I do bend over backwards. Most definitely I take a lot of pride in my work. My business has been my life for many years now.

Hobbies: I have a few. Painting my boat, well actually she's a 58 foot tri cabin motor yacht. Yes, what I use on her I might just use on a job. Where/how? Well the West Systems I used on the window sills at Scott's restaurant, in Costa Mesa, to repair where water damage had rotted away the majority of the sills. Works on wood railings too as I used them last week here in Naples as the moisture level can be something here near the water. It is a tedious project, but well worth the time & effort as the finished project looks like new. I'm good at duplicating. I'm just a simple guy originally from Boston, who has learned that hard work pays off.

I don't fear heights so 2+ stories are just another rung up the ladder. I promise you I am careful. I believe my ambidextory abilty enhances my capability to reach where others can not or choose not to.Last January I rose to knew heights as I used my scafolding stratigically placed in a beautiful home in Cota De Caza, easy access to the cathedral ceilings ( prior to new flooring being installed of course). You see I am creative & willing to please my customers. A smile & a thank you of appreciation really makes my day.
January is nearly here again. So where did 2008 go to & where was I? Oh, I returned to Laguna Beach & painted the exterior, where previously I had rebuilt a couple of decks. On the largest deck, over looking the Pacific I widened the steps for better footing. A little added touch. Returned to Orangeland, a beautiful RV park not to far from the Honda Center, Angel Stadium, & the infamous Disneyland. At Orangeland I rebuilt/replaced some pretty large fascia areas. Enjoyed a few oranges from their trees. Scott's , yes that was a project as it began with refurbishing the french windows in the atrium then went to interior converting of all the oil based trim & doors. Yes, this last year California no longer has oil based paints. We're going green- good for the environment, lower Voc's, water based.
Economy is tough as this year ends- some question can they afford to paint. The truth is paint protects your investment. The elements are tough in southern California; sun, moisture. Be kind to your investment. Seal & protect. Painting is easy, at least for me. Prep is the key. Knowing how to prepare your home prior to paint & doing it correctly is essential. It will cost more for repairs if you don't. Honestly, it is my business & I have had to repair a lot of homes that if they had been prepared& painted better the first time & not when Kennedy was president. You get my point. Time, elements can shorten the life span on a paint job. The quality of paint is also a key. I promise I use the best, not always the most expensive, but the best for your situation. Your choice of course. I have found Sherwin Williams to be the best for my customers.
OK, OK. I have gone on & on. I hope to hear from you soon. My New Year's resolution is to relocate to Big Bear before the end of 2009. I hope to continue my business, rebuilding, repainting, one place at a time. I hope to work on top of the mountain most of the time, but will definitely return to help out my special customers in need of my expertise. I really love what I do. I would love to help you protect & enhance your investment.
Honestly, I would like to tell you that I wrote this site, but my better half, she did it.
